I am an ardent, self-proclaimed, romance novel junky who lives for the Happily Ever After!
I have always been a reader, even before my obsession with romance truly began.
I started devouring the indies along with trad stories around 14 years ago when my oldest son was entering into early intervention care. I needed an outlet that was “healthy” (meaning no alcohol and no medicating!) a mental and emotional distancing from my day of kids and therapies and special needs.
The romance world has always been the best reprieve from the minutiae of my personal grind. A real sanctuary space. And even now, so many years later, I am still reading at stoplights, in the pickup line, during movie previews, at 2am when I cannot fall back to sleep! Those of you who share this addiction, know what I am talking about 😉
In 2017 I attended my first signing event. Ohmygosh! I have never been around so many women who were all so nice at once! I thought to myself; “Self; how often have you been in a space with 100s or even 1000s of women and you don’t see any cattiness or b*tchiness or competitive bullsh*t….!? Never!?” I LOVED attending that event! It reshaped my entire perspective of the reader world and has really incentivized me to showcase this found family in a special way.
Love On Demand has become my ultimate passion project! Bringing a style of media content and live, active engagement to both Indie and Trad fans/ authors, bloggers, beta readers, organizers, narrators and basically all lovers of LOVE who frequent the cons, the signings and Romance community events!
While this is a niche space, it is a flourishing, female dominant, sacred community. The romance universe is so strong and beautifully bonded and extends so far beyond a typical chick-lit book club persona. Love on Demand is my dream to show the rest of the reader world how extraordinary the romance space really is, and invite them to join us in embracing all of the Happily Ever Afters!
